Cradle of Filth: CRADLE OF FILTH's previously announced European tour with TYPE O NEGATIVE, which was set for December, had to be posponed due to TYPE O not being able to make the trip at that time, according to a posting on CRADLE's web site. CRADLE OF FILTH are now looking at touring Europe around February 2005 with another major support act.

As previously reported, CRADLE OF FILTH will support MUDVAYNE on the next "Headbanger's Ball" tour, tentatively planned for this fall. The trek is expected to be confirmed within the next two weeks, with dates and cities to follow shortly afterward. Possible openers include Italian rockers LACUNA COIL, currently on Ozzfest, as well as BLOODSIMPLE, the first signing to MUDVAYNE vocalist Chad Gray's label, called Bullygoat Records. BLOODSIMPLE is the new project featuring VISION OF DISORDER members Tim Williams (vocals) and Mike Kennedy (guitar), along with ex-MEDICATION bassist Kyle Sanders and drummer Chris Hamilton, plus guitarist Nick Rowe (guitar).

CRADLE OF FILTH, who recently completed work on the "Nymphetamine" video (photos from the video shoot), are getting the plans together for the "Nymphetamine Special Edition" CD. This will have five to six extra tracks and exclusive new artwork and is set for release early next year. The regular version of "Nymphetamine" is scheduled for release on September 28 through Roadrunner Records.

The album — recorded late last year at Los Angeles' Rocket Carousel Studios — features guest drumming on six tracks by SLIPKNOT basher Joey Jordison.

OTEP are currently touring the U.S. as part of this year's Ozzfest.

General Black Metal: I found a site with the top 10 most ridicules Black Metal pictures. Here's the link http://www.ruthlessreviews.com/top10/10blackmetal.html

Killswitch Engage: In a brand-new interview with the Richmond Times-Dispatch, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE guitarist Joel Stroetzel was asked to name what it is that might set the band apart from what other groups are doing.

"I'm not really sure, to tell you the truth," he responded. "There are a lot of bands going on now who have a similar sound, and a lot of people are noticing a lot of those bands. I think we're one of many bands kind of up-and-coming.

"I know everybody in the band has very different listening tastes. Adam [Dutkiewicz, guitarist] listens to a lot of pop music. I like a lot of thrash metal and stuff like that. There's a lot of different elements in the KILLSWITCH arrangements that you can kind of pick out if you're looking for them."

According to Stroetzel, the fans are ultimately what keep the guitarist excited about what he does for a living.

"Being in a touring band is obviously one of the best jobs in the world, in my opinion, but it can still kind of drive you crazy after a while when you don't get to go home," Stroetzel said.

"So I think one of the things that really keeps me going is when you get in front of a crowd of people and you see people singing along and really getting into the music, playing air guitar along with your parts. It really makes you feel good. It makes you feel like people are listening to what you're doing."

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE are continuing to tour in support of their latest release, "The End of Heartache", which was released in May through Roadrunner Records. The follow-up to 2002's "Alive or Just Breathing" was produced by guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz and was mixed at Backstage Studios in Ripley, Yorkshire with Andy Sneap (MACHINE HEAD, EXODUS, ARCH ENEMY, SKINLAB). "The End of Heartache" is the group's first full-length release with vocalist Howard Jones and drummer Justin Foley.

SLAYER, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE and MASTODON will be teaming up for this fall's Jägermeister Music Tour beginning on October 29 in Springfield, Missouri. the success of the fall 2003 tour, SLAYER has signed to once again lead the charge.

The fast-growing Jägermeister Music Tour is now in its fourth successful year. "The caliber of the talent we’ve been able to draw from is tremendous," says Rick Zeiler, Director of Marketing & Brand Development for Jägermeister, "and having SLAYER on board again is huge. SLAYER is a legend, and they are the perfect fit for Jägermeister and our fans."

Each show on the tour will be rounded out by a Jägermeister-sponsored band. In addition, fans can expect the usual royal treatment with great giveaways from Jägermeister and show sponsors, Schecter Guitars, Peavey Electronics, Coffin Case and Meinl Cymbals.

Vader: A brand-new VADER track, entitled "Dark Transmission", has been posted online in MP3 format at this location.

"Dark Transmission" is said to be "the slowest part" of the upcoming VADER album, "The Beast" (view cover here), due on September 20 through Metal Blade Records. The album's first single — including the track "Beware The Beast" and another new song, a report from the studio and a video — will be released on August 31 with the 4/2004 issue of Thrash 'em All magazine. A limited–edition version of the album will contain a bonus DVD including a report from the studio, a video clip recorded during the session, and "a fragment of one of the most important gigs in 2003," according to a posting on the band's web site.

"The Beast" was recorded at Radio Gdansk Studio with producer Piotr Lukaszewski ("Reign Forever World", "Revelations", "Blood") and was mixed while the band were away on the first part of their European tour. Jacek Wisniewski was responsible for the album artwork and other graphics. The mastering session took place on July 1.

Killswitch Engage: We couldn't have asked for a better way to kick off the tour than the show in New Haven, CT yesterday. Definitely one of the funnest shows we've ever played. Thanks to all of our friends and family for coming out.

Morbid Angel: Morbid Angel and World Management would like to clear the air with the announcement that after more than 15 years and 9 albums and one EP the band and Earache Records have parted ways on future recordings. We will be exploring all interested labels as well as other options and and will make a decision on a new release for 2005 in the next few months. Currently we are still in the final phases of tour commitments for Heretic. We wish Earache continued success in selling our catalogue and have an obvious professional vested interest in this. We wish to thank all of the Earache employees past and present for their work on Morbid Angel’s releases. We are looking forward with excitement to the future.

DArk Tranquillity: We're proud to announce that bassist Michael Nicklasson now is officially endorsed by the music business' finest: Warwick!

The deal was secured a while ago, and - needless to say - we're looking forward to a good and prosperous cooperation in the future. Thanks to Geir at Flaa music for making it happen.

UPDATE: On another note, we got official word that our ability to estimate the amount of people in a crowd sucks. The Busan festival organizers informed us that there were a massive 35 000 people on the site, which makes it the biggest audience we've ever played for.

Kamelot: Back from Germany
Hello All!

Well after nearly 24 hours of travelling I am finally home in Florida. The weather in Germany could not have been better for me, hot and sunny. We are not finished completely however but we are now 90% done with the new album. We will meet this week with cover artist Derek Gores to discuss the new cover. Expect the usual fantastic work from Derek with some new ideas as well. I want to say thanks to all the great people in the Wolfsburg area, from the Hotel we stayed at to the families of the studio staff that made us feel at home. Also hello to the EPICA band members who were also at Gate Studios working on their new release.

Cheers!!
Thomas and Kamelot

Morbid Angel: World Management would like to announce that the shows for Morbid Angel in South America ( Mexico, Chile and Columbia ) have been moved to September 4-11. Bass and Vocals will be handled by David Vincent. The guys looks forward to their shows in South America. Morbid Angel and World Management would also like to thank Steve Tucker for his contribution on several Morbid Angel records as well as multiple great tours. We all wish him well and are sure he will succeed in his new endeavors. Steve has sent some comments for the fans… see his post below:

Steve’s post:

After many problems and much discussion with the people around me, the people I trust. I have decided it is necessary for me to step away from Morbid Angel. It has been a long trip with a lot of great shows and I have made many friends along the way. The Morbid Angel fans that not only excepted me ,but reveled in my being a part of the band, have been the greatest thing about my time in Morbid Angel, they are the reason I came back to the band.

There are many reasons for me leaving the band, personal reasons, musical reasons and very logical reasons. All of which will stay between me and the band . Morbid Angel existed many years before I came along and will for many more I am sure.

I have enjoyed playing with some great musicians and touring with some great bands and meeting some incredible people all over the world. To all these people I say "Thank You" and we will meet again.

I am not done with the music business by any means, I will now be moving into other areas of the business, things I have always enjoyed, but didn't have time for. I will be moving into much more recording ,production and management, so any bands interested in working with me, feel free to contact me at hewhosleeps@hotmail.com .

Again ,Thank you to all of the fans for 8 years of making my hour and a half of stage time so brilliant!!! Tucker

Funeral Rites: Funeral Rites has parted ways with drummer Steve Richardson. His personal life had prevented Funeral Rites from touring on a large scale, as they had wanted. The band feels this is the best move at this time, as they have been invited to various festivals across the U.S. Funeral Rites are in fact scheduled and will be at the Texas Murder Fest in September. This recent event will not hold the band back in any way, shape, or form. He will be replaced by someone who is truly appreciative and supportive of death and black metal. The band continues to extend their gratitude to the fans, for being understanding and supportive through out their career

Funeral Rites: Funeral Rites are in great appreciation for the endless support that was shown at the Extreme Texas Metalfest 2004. We had a great time and hope that everyone enjoyed it as much as we did. The crowd attendance and response was incredible. We had people come all the way from Baton Rouge, LA to see the show. Many hails to Extreme Texas Metal, Reuben the "Sound God", and Cardi's for a job well done. It was cool hanging out with our bothers in metal, Vex and Slow Grind. Pictures of the show have been posted in the gallery.

Next stop Milwaukee...

Shape of  Despair:
Finnish doom/death metallers SHAPE OF DESPAIR have set a September 27 release date through Spikefarm Records for their third album, "Illusion's Play". The follow-up to 2001's "Angels Of Distress" was once again recorded at Hellhole studios in Helsinki, Finland. An MP3 clip of the track "Entwined In Misery" can be downloaded at this location.

Cradle of Filth:
CRADLE OF FILTH bassist Dave Pybus has posted the following studio update on the band's official web site:

"Hail! Firstly, Friday night's warm-up show at London's Camden Underworld was a last-minute brainstorm seen as our plans to play Greece the week before had to be postponed. We had only four days to promote the show and for the four hundred lucky fans who made it in time it turned out to be a great night. Played an hour and fifteen setlist including a new track. Obviously, since it was my birthday, I had VIP treatment, which saw me head first in the crowd twice and a close encounter with a flame thrower from our ever-loving-loyal roadcrew. Survived with a few injuries to my back and legs to make it to the Download festival at Donington Park, Saturday.

"I managed to see a few more bands than last time we were here in 2002, as our backstage area was right behind the main stage. I was surprised to see OPETH first. Didn't know they were playing today? Great band. MONSTER MAGNET got the crowd going and then it was our turn. We are never really sure what the fans are going to be like at something as big as this but for the thousands that were upfront chanting our name before we hit the stage it really helped pump up our adrenaline. As soon as the backdrop is lowered the fans really know we are only a few minutes away from appearing in the flesh. Bar the few technical hick-ups, we hit stage like a bomb, opening with 'Promise of Fever' followed by 'Cruelty Brought thee Orchids'. Then we treated our fans to the new track 'Gilded Cunt', which seemed to go down great. 'Ghost in the Fog' was the crowd pleaser and to finish was something we made a point of. WE ARE the most extreme band on the bill on a day like this, so why try be something we are not? 'Ebony Dressed for Sunset' was selected instead of 'Cradle to Enslave' and we finished the set with 'The Forest Whispers my Name'. Two older, more extreme tracks that really ephisized us being the black sheep of the day. A position we and our fans love and revel in. Oh, and this time there was no rain cloud. A great day for us and all."

CRADLE OF FILTH's Download festival set list:

01. The Promise of Fever
02. Cruelty Brought Thee Orchids
03. Gilded Cunt
04. Ghost in the Fog
05. Ebony Dressed for Sunset
06. The Forest Whispers My Name

The Metallysee Booking Agency has issued a statement regarding the cancellation of DEICIDE's European tour. It reads as follows:

"Yesterday, Tuesday 8th June, DEICIDE abruptly walked out on the eve of their European tour. They were scheduled to play London last night but, instead, they were in Heathrow airport waiting for a flight to the U.S.

"A statement has already been made by the band's label, Earache Records, so we felt it necessary to issue our own.

"The problems began last week when [DEICIDE frontman] Glen Benton contacted us demanding a very sizeable increase in the band's wage per show. If this was not forthcoming, the band would cancel. So, left with no choice, we had to give in to their ridiculous demand. The fees had already been agreed with regional agents and promoters so we at Metallysee were being forced to foot this extra expense ourselves. But it was this or no tour at all so we had very little choice.

"However, yesterday 8th June, the band decided to demand even more money - effectively, they were looking for double the amount originally agreed. This simply was not possible for 2 reasons: 1) Financially 2) We cannot allow ourselves to be 'bullied' in this manner after already giving in once to their demands.

"Coupled with the financial wrangles, the band decided the transportation was not good enough - the main problem being the air conditioning being faulty on the bus. This was something that could have been fixed and surely not a reason to pull a tour.

"So, in the end, the band unloaded their gear and headed for home, leaving 3 support bands, agents, promoters and of course the fans truly cheated (and in the case of ourselves, the agents and promoters, seriously out of pocket).

"We now feel that we can never work with this band again and would like to apologise to everyone affected by the unreasonable behaviour of DEICIDE."

Decapitated: Decapitated are featured in an article in national intertainment bible, Entertainment Weekly, hitting newsstands Friday, June 11. The article explores the controversy of the Decapitated name in the light of the recent decapitation of US citizen Nick Berg at the hands of terrorists - a situation reminiscent of the controversy surrounding the band Anthrax during the anthrax scares of 2001.

For an underground death metal band like Decapitated to be mentioned in the pages of Entertainment Weekly is quite a coup indeed. Yet as brutal and technical a band as they may be, Decapitated are no strangers to mainstream publicity. Since the release of their Earache debut, 'Winds Of Creation', the band has been covered in a host of un-metal publications, including Billboard and Spin.

In other news, GAMMA RAY have been forced to cancel their participation in Metal Mania Festival, which was originally set to take place in Spain over three days (June 25, 26 and 27). Due to the difficulty in finding a suitable place for Metal Mania 2004, the festival organizers, Rock 'N' Rock and Matarile, have decided to make the festival a one-day event (new date is now June 25). As a result, the majority of the bands who were set the play Metal Mania have had to pull out of the festival, GAMMA RAY being one of them. "The band therefore wish to apologize to the Spanish fans who had been looking forward to seeing them this summer, and hope to return to Spain soon!" the group write on their web site.

Voivod:
Attention! Attention! Attention! All friends in the Multiverse.

The Voivod is alive and well in the land of ice. Currently, there are approximately 25 songs in progress for the next recordings. Mssr. Piggy is churning up evil with some very metal riffage and leading the way as we are charting our course of execution for the months ahead.

As of now, we plan to return to the same rooms with the same helmsman of the Nothingface era. (Translation: Away, Snake, Piggy, and Jasonic make some serious new Voivodian noise in Montreal with Glen Robinson producing.) This is our dream, this is our quest.

So, as the world spins faster everyday, we will make our music, our way, when everything aligns. In time, the Voivod again will rise! Listen closely for the cries...in 2005...

We look forward to sharing the metal with our people. Until we see you...

Keep It Heavy,

Jasonic

P.S. Check out the 20th Anniversary "War and Pain" release from Metal Blade. Awesome true old school!

Otep: First things first. Otep's House of Secrets kicks complete and total ass."
ReviewToAKill.com

"The door to House of Secrets opens into a terrifying world with "Requiem," a track that asks the listener to be privy to haunting voices, screams and to moments of verbal abuse of those to be unnamed. This track sets the tone to the rest of the disc as it requires the listener to settle in for a ride that is at times disturbing and emotionally draining, yet cathartic."
AftertasteMag.com

"Branded by Shamayas howling vocals, disturbing whimpers and masterful prose, HOUSE OF SECRETS will take modern metal to an explosive and all together extreme new level."

The Crown:

We give up.

Today, the 7th of March 2004, we, the dudes of The Crown, have decided to call it quits.
I'm sure every member in the band can still come up with 10 reasons for continuing and 10 reasons for giving up, but after some heavy consideration we have decided to finally find out what life is like without playing in The Crown.

It's been a blast writing/performing together all these years, taking this band to levels that we never even knew of. Also getting to know other people in other bands on the road has been amazing. Seeing new places and getting to see and hear new, great bands has totally blown us away - we sure had our share of fun!

Too many tours gone bad due to not at all professional tour arrangements is maybe the main reason for giving up. (We do indeed have stories about tourmanagers/agencies and the business in general, the best ones would surely make a bestselling book...)
Coming home from tours with empty pockets, equipment falling apart and having a pile of bills on the doorstep is simply "horns down". Paying the bills with tour memories and floorscores is just not possible. We do love standing on stage but we don't know much about the business part, and that's a bad combination. Trust me on that one.

The timing for giving up now is both good and bad:
Bad because Possessed 13 is an incredible album that deserves some decent touring, but I guess all professional booking agencies have their hands full as it is.
Good because we decided to not sign a new deal with Metal Blade, and now that we finally have Crowned in Terror (Crowned Unholy!!!) sounding like it was supposed to, the timing is superb.

We made 6 killer albums, we did stuff our way, and we sure as hell paid our dues.
Or as we say to conclude usual setbacks: "We came, we saw and we fucked up!"

So we want to thank our fans for the support: you people made it last for 14 years! Thanks to Metal Blade, thanks to all bands that we've shared the stage with. Our apologies to the festivals that had us booked for the summer of 2004.
And last but not least: thanks to our girlfriends for putting up with us through the rehearsals, gigs, studio sessions and tours!

- Janne and The Crown

Arch Enemy: Vote for We Will RIse Best Metal Video of the New Millennium (so far)?

Shadows Fall:
The dynamic thrash metal quintet SHADOWS FALLs highly anticipated new album, The War Within, is now set for a September 21st release. The stunning new offering, produced again by Zeuss (Hatebreed) at Planet Z Studios in the band's home state of Massachusetts is the follow-up to the bands critically acclaimed disc, The Art of Balance, and features 10 tracks of sonic devastation. The War Within, their fourth full-length release, is the groups most unrelenting, yet dynamic offering that further proves why they are the undisputed leaders of their genre.

SHADOWS FALL will hit the road in Europe in early June on the New Wave of American Heavy Metal Tour featuring Killswitch Engage, Chimaira and labelmates God Forbid. This will be followed by the groups highly anticipated summer U.S. headlining tour, dubbed the Strhess Tour, which also features As I Lay Dying, Himsa and Remembering Never. The trek kicks off on July 16th and runs through August 19th. Be sure to check the tours official website www.strhesstour.com for dates and all current news.

For the Strhess Tour, the band has reserved tickets for everyone on their mailing list and web site before they go on sale to the general public. This way you get the chance to order tickets first with cheaper service and shipping fees than you would pay using other ticket services. You can obtain a password by signing up at www.shadowsfall.com or clicking the link below. Unfortunately, because of venue restrictions, it can't be done for every show. This is a first come, first serve online ticket ordering system. Four tickets will be the maximum per order.

VADER plays for over 50 000 people
Over 50 000 people saw VADER' s gig in Chorzów, Poland, where the band opened for METALLICA. Unfortunately, there were some technical problems, nevertheless they played a pretty succesful show, containing a few VADER's classics: Sothis, Wings, Epitath, Xeper, Carnal. We would like to thank to all people that made the show possible: Metal Mind Productions, Odyssey Agency, METALLICA's management and musicians. It was a great honor for the band to share the stage with Four Horsemen.

Superjoint Ritual: Superjoint Ritual takes over MTV2's Headbangers Ball - Airing May 15th 10 PM ET/ 7PM PT! Tune in for  some  of  the  heaviest  videos  you will ever see on television, watch Kevin Bond get tattooed by Paul Booth and  hear Philip Anselmo  set the record straight about Pantera!

MTV2 Headbangers Ball invites one of the heaviest bands in the world Superjoint Ritual - featuring Philip Anselmo, Joe Fazzio, Jimmy Bower, Hank Williams III and Kevin Bond to host the entire  two hours of Headbangers Ball which airs on  May  15th @ 10:00 pm EST / 7:00 pm PCT.

In the Summer of 2003 - Metal Icon-Superjoint Ritual vocalist Philip Anselmo hosted a one hour special - "Philip Anselmo's Ball"- which aired right after an episode of the Headbangers Ball. Philip Anselmo's Ball paid  homage to our forefathers of Heavy Metal- it  was a history of metal that included videos of  heavy music's inspiration Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin as well as underground hard core heroes Cromags and Bad Brains.  Now, MTV2 Headabangers ball asked Philip back - this time with his band Superjoint Ritual!

On May 15, Philip Anselmo finally sets the record straight on Pantera.  You won't want to miss this history making episode of Headbangers Ball. This two hour Special Headbangers Ball with hosts Superjoint Ritual will air videos of old school metal greats not too often seen as well videos by the latest metal has to offer.

Watch guitarist Kevin Bond get tattooed by none other than the 'King of Rock Tattoos' - Paul Booth.  Superjoint Ritual invite world class tattooist Paul Booth who Rolling Stone Magazine refer to as " The New King of  Rock Tattoos - - known for his macabre, iconoclastic art - which includes ink on Slipknot, Slayer, Sepultura, Pantera, Superjoint Ritual, Cradle of Filth, Satyricon, From Autumn To Ashes, Soulfly, Sevendust, Six feet Under, Def Tones and more. Paul Booth has also designed album art for Deicide, Six Feet Under and Pig Destroyer as well as set design and merchandise for Slayer.

When asked about the MTV2 Headbangers Ball -Jim Bower states, "Headbangers Ball is a great outlet for kids old and young to see what is new, what is happening and to see what is very metal".

"Glad we are on Headbangers Ball instead of -'Where are they now' declares Kevin Bond.

Philip Anselmo commits, "As any person might think I may say something negative (about HBB)... It is actually still a good place for the majority of kids to find heavy metal"!

"They need to play more metal; it's about time Headbangers Ball came back. It needs to be six hours long a day not once a week" laments Hank Williams III.

Joe Fazzio  exclaims,  "I am ecstatic that there is an  outlet  for  heavy  music - its cool that bands  can  be  underground  and  still be on  MTV2 - you can  still be  watched by  millions  and  be  underground  so---  HAIL!

Kamelot:
Current and former members of SAVATAGE will unite for one night only to headline ProgPower V this September in Atlanta.

The festival, which will be held September 17 and 18 at Earthlink Live, will feature Jon Oliva, Zak Stevens, Chris Caffery, and Steve "Dr. Kill Drums" Wacholz performing a set from SAVATAGE's entire discography in an exclusive performance. In addition to the full set, fans can expect a sneak preview of Jon Oliva's "Tage Mahal".

"I'm really excited about this show," said Stevens. "The last time I did a full show with these guys was at the PopComm Festival in Germany 1999. I've been waiting for the right time for us to get together. That time has come and where better than the ProgPower festival?"

Added Jon Oliva: "We've been talking with Zak about doing a special show ever since he left SAVATAGE, but it's really hard to get every one's schedules together for a rare event like this. It was nearly impossible this time around and it probably won't ever happen again, so we'll make this one special! We plan on playing several songs we rarely ever performed live...this should be good!"

Germany's EDGUY will return to Atlanta after an overwhelming response at 2002's ProgPower III. "ProgPower was our first big step in the USA as a band," said EDGUY vocalist Tobias Sammet. "Glenn (the promoter) had the balls to take the risk and build something over there to support the music we all love so much but was claimed DEAD in the USA not long ago. Well, for 'dead' people, all the lovely fans there down in front of the stage looked pretty good."

ProgPower II veterans KAMELOT will also make a return appearance at the festival. "We are very pleased to be returning for ProgPower V," said KAMELOT guitarist Thomas Youngblood. "ProgPower is the highest class of the U.S. festivals and gives many metal fans a chance to see the bands that do not get to tour the U.S. We are planning to play songs from our previous albums, as well as some new ones from the upcoming album that we are currently in production with. And there are always some nice surprises with our live shows."

Progressive metal icons PAIN OF SALVATION will perform an exclusive set for ProgPower USA this year. The set list will be picked entirely by the fans via online voting. Details will be announced via the festival web site in the coming weeks.

In ProgPower tradition, several European bands will make North American debuts Denmark's WUTHERING HEIGHTS, Germany's DREAMSCAPE, and France's ADAGIO with Germany's BRAINSTORM, Sweden's TAD MOROSE, and Canada's INTO ETERNITY rounding out the lineup.

Tickets will go on sale May 1 via all Ticketmaster outlets. Only 900 tickets will be made available to the public once again. Gold Badges (special patron tickets) are already sold-out.

Tickets for the 1,500-seat venue have sold out within two weeks for the past two shows.

"People keep asking me why I don't move to a bigger venue since the show sells out every year," said promoter Glenn Harveston. "Well, the success of ProgPower USA is not based only on the roster and tickets sold, but the intimacy and atmosphere that I am able to create. It's what makes this show unique here in the States."

Sponsorship, CD sampler, and program advertising information is available at www.progpowerusa.com.

ProgPower V schedule:

Friday, September 17:

INTO ETERNITY: 5:30 - 6:15
DREAMSCAPE: 6:45 - 7:30
TAD MOROSE: 8:00 - 8:45
KAMELOT: 9:15 - 10:45

Saturday, September 18:

Morbid Angel: Gaming Newsflash!!!!!!!!!

Anyone remember the old school 3D game DOOM by ID Software?
Surely by now everyone knows what a 3D gaming WHORE Trey is. If he isnt
Railing up a storm in the Quake 3 InstaGIB servers hes going to work showing
those DOOM Creepers who their owner is.

Always Happy To Come To MY HOUSE!!!

Well, Trey has just completed a chaotic new DOOM map called Chambers of Dis.
This map is set up as a single player survival nightmare environment to put your
gaming skills to the test. This map is huge and filled with tons of evil little doom
creepers who all lust for your suffering and fragmentation. Ready to show them
whose house this is? Just click on the new Chambers of Dis menu link for more
details. The Chambers of Dis map is made for the DOOM enhancement patch
ZDooM which allows higher video resolution, mouse look and other upgrades
which breathe new life into this ancient 3D classic. All that is needed to instantly
play the map is included in the Chambers of Dis Zip file.

Creating music that takes the listener places is a big passion for me.
Now I wanna share with you meanies another side of my madness. J
During the writing and recording period for out latest release Heretic
I was also working on some other fun stuff such as this Chambers of
Dis map. For some reason I just gotta be using my imagination for
something cool and this map was such a funtastic outlet that I now
wish to share with everyone, just for fun. Im sure you all know what
a gaming whore I am so come and taste some of this bitter-sweetness
that I have prepared for you.

Deicide:
On Monday, March 1, Glen Benton of DEICIDE will sit down with "Uranium" host Juliya to talk about the new record, "Scars of the Crucifix", his beliefs as a Satanist, what inspires him to write and play, and of course, Juliya gets to the bottom of the now-infamous Canadian border incident from last year.

Glen: "Well I will say this As far as the weapons, I mean, the weapons thing, the fact was that we travel with a lot of money and the gun was placed there by the owner of the motor home, who's a good friend of mine and it's been there for a long time and that was pretty much you know"

Juliya: "So you just forgot."

Glen: "That was there and he just gave it up. When asked if there was any guns on the motor home he gave it up, he surrendered it. As far as the pound and a half of weed or whatever the hell it was, you know come on. I mean we are not fucking a bunch of goody goodies I'm not going to lie to you."

Juliya: "What about the steroids, you don't think your angry enough already?"

Glen: "I don't do steroids, I think we all know who does steroids... Luckily I wasn't there when all that went down, I was like 30 minutes outside of Detroit for the next show. What happened was, the night before in Buffalo we told the driver cause he was following Mapquest, so I blame Mapquest alright, they'll be hearing from us. So he accidentally followed his Mapquest into Canada, 'cause he knew he couldn't go in Canada. So it was kind of like an accident kind of thing, you know?"

Juliya: "So how did you guys get out of that anyway?"

Glen: "Luckily there was a state trooper that was a DEICIDE fan, and he went up in front of the judge and got them out real cheap. He told the judge they're just a bunch of crazy rockers and not criminals, and the judge set the bail real low and let them out... We only missed one show."

For more from Glen and the world television premiere of DEICIDE's first-ever video, "Scars of the Crucifix", tune into "Uranium" on Monday, March 1 at 8:00 p.m. EST on Fuse TV.

Of course this includes Blo.torch, so if you tune in to the Stork On Air show on March 5 between 19.00 and 21.00 hours, you will catch some of the new Blo.torch material from the upcoming album "Volatile".

For the rest of the World, Radio/TV West also broadcasts on the internet. You can choose 2 different ways to connect to the show.

Shadows Fall: What up everyone,

Been a busy week songwriting wise. I hit Planet Z on Saturday to lay down some rough vocal ideas over the demos that the band recorded last week. for live demos the sound quality is unreal. Zeus has stepped up Planet Z in a serious way. The new songs are coming out amazing. Everyone in the band is really siked on the new shit. sound-wise these songs are covering alot of ground. Some tunes are totally brutal heavy, heavier that anything we have done in the past, some have a real rock n roll vibe and some are just all out thrash fests. And this is only the beginning. New ideas are popping up constantly.

We should be debuting a few new tunes at the headlining shows we are planning for April. We are still waiting for final confirmtion but the lineup for the short tour looks to be killer. It is only a short run of
shows in the PA, NY and MA area. Right after the show we will be heading in the studio to begin work on the album itself.

In other news, The Art Of Balance is still doing amazingly!! We have sound scanned over 90,000 copies which for an underground metal band on an independent label is awesome. We really want to push this record over the 100,000 mark to prove to the industry what it is already realizing, that the underground is taking over and people are demanding quality music. Help us push this record over the 100K mark by telling your friends to pick that shit up and to all of those with burned copies go grab the real shit and hook us up!!! hahahaha. But seriously, thank you all so much for making this
record such a success. We are gonna come right back with another record that we think will push our sound even further.

Horns up,
Brian

Killswitch Engage:
KILLSWITCH ENGAGE guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz has posted a video message from Backstage Studios in Ripley, Yorkshire, England, where he is currently mixing the group's new album, "The End of Heartache", with Andy Sneap (MACHINE HEAD, EXODUS, ARCH ENEMY, SKINLAB). Check it out here. Additional studio photos can be viewed at this location.

As previously reported, "The End of Heartache" is scheduled for release on May 11 through Roadrunner Records.

The follow-up to 2002's "Alive or Just Breathing" was produced by guitarist Dutkiewicz and is set to feature the following tracks, among others:

03. When Darkness Falls
04. Rose of Sharyn

"The End of Heartache", the group's first full-length release with vocalist Howard Jones and drummer Justin Foley, will feature cover artwork designed by the band's bass player, Mike D'Antonio.

D'Antonio is no stranger to album cover design as he has taken on the task for the previous KILLSWITCH ENGAGE albums as well as for several other up and coming like-minded bands such as SHADOWS FALL and UNEARTH.

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE will hit the road as headliners in early May and can be expected to tour relentlessly behind "The End Of Heartache" in 2004.

"Alive or Just Breathing" has sold nearly 100,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan.

For many years, we've received lots of questions regarding the

(1992) were found, and we could happily note that they were intact and

some carefully executed mastering magic, the sound quality has been
                                                      boosted a great deal.

In addition, we have the pleasure of including a couple of songs that
were recorded during the studio sessions for our last three albums. Some

been available on limited edition versions of the albums, while some
others, like "Static", "No One" and "In Sight", are previously unheard
by anyone outside the immediate band circle.

As a special treat, we're also including a second disc with more than 70

Vader: Recordings postponed, a new drummer!
During the recording session of VADER's new album Doc met with an unfortunate accident at the studio. He seriously injured his hand and leg during the third day of working at Hertz. The band has been forced to cancel the session and postpone recordings on May. Unfortunately the injuries of Vader's drummer require longer convalescence, it follows that Doc won't play the drums on the new album! The band is going to record the album at PR Studio in Gdask and Daray from Polish black metal band VESANIA will join the band as a session musician, taking over the drums on the new record. He will also play with VADER on band's forthcoming gigs and tours. The new album is going to be released in September. Keep your fingers crossed for both drummers, more details follow soon.

Vader: Readers of Metal Hammer appreciate VADER!
We are proud to announce that in the annual poll of Polish Metal Hammer Magazine VADER ended up on the 1st place in a few categories: album of the year- "Blood", best song- "We Wait", band of the year- VADER, musician of the year- Peter, personality of the year- Peter. That's a great surprise for us the more so because last year VADER hasn't released a new, full lenght album but only a mini CD.

We regret to inform that after 10 years and 4 albums we, as a band, will no longer continue as NOTHINGFACE. We cannot begin to thank all our friends, family and most importantly our fans for their continued support through out the years.
It was a great 10-year run and we thank you all for the great memories! We could only hope that we gave you as much as you gave us.
Sincerely,

The CD version of "Scars" will come with a bonus DVD, containing an exclusive DEICIDE documentary shot by acclaimed U.K. director Pete Bridgewater (MORBID ANGEL, DECEMBER, THE HAUNTED). Entitled "Behind the Scars: Under the Skin of Deicide", the documentary chronicles a few days in the life of the band in the recording studio during the making of the album, at home, at the gun range, onstage in Las Vegas, on the road, and out on the town. Clocking in at 35 minutes, "Behind the Scars" is a must-see DVD for any fan interested in DEICIDE's world view... and it's all free as a bonus in the first 50,000 CDs of "Scars Of The Crucifix".

The U.S.-only slipcase version contains the "Scars Of The Crucifix" CD as well as the "Behind The Scars" DVD, all housed in a specially-designed black slipcase with die-cut "inverted-cross". Limited to 3,000 copies, this edition is not available in major chains, but exclusive to mom and pop stores in USA.

The U.K./European-only deluxe digipack version contains the CD with the "Behind The Scars" DVD as well as an added bonus of a signature DEICIDE guitar pick. Limited to 10,000 copies, 9,999 will contain either a Glen Benton, Eric Hoffman or Brian Hoffman signature pick as used onstage by the band themselves... BUT hidden inside one copy is a specially minted DEICIDE guitar pick made of metal. The lucky fan who buys this copy wins a BC Rich NJ Beast guitar.

The vinyl version, limited to 2,000 copies, will be pressed on heavyweight 180-gram 12" black vinyl, and features brand new, exclusive Paul Booth cover art, different from the artwork on the CD version. Released March 15.

View images of all the packaging and formats at this location.

DEICIDE's "Scars Of The Crucifix" will be released on February 23 in Europe, and February 24 in the U.S.

Superjoint Ritual: Shawn Humphrey of the Flint Journal reports that CLUTCH's sold-out show Saturday night (Feb. 7) at the Machine Shop in Flint, Michigan featured surprise guest guitarist Jimmy Bower. Bower, who has spent time in several established heavy rock/metal bands, including DOWN, CORROSION OF CONFORMITY and SUPERJOINT RITUAL, sat in with the band during its closing number, "Super Grass". "He's in so many bands that if I started listing them right now it'd take 15 minutes," lead singer Neil Fallon joked as he stepped on stage.

CLUTCH skated past the angst-ridden alternative rock scene of the '90s with a powerful rock sound and storytelling lyrics. Their sound Saturday night defied most genre rules, selectively taking from complex musical inspirations while boiling everything down to a set loaded with heavy, action-packed choruses devoid of ballads. Raunchy:

Hi there...... listen up ! - We have both GOOD and BAD news this time. The BAD news is that singer Lars Vognstrup has decided to leave the band after 10 years.

As we don´t want to spend time commenting Lars V´s departure we can reveal that Lars V. is still a VERY good friend of the band and loves the music BUT due to musical differences it would be strange to continue with Lars V. as he couldn´t give it a 100%. Below you can read a statement from Lars V.!

The GOOD news is that we have already found a new, powerful and talented singer named Kasper Thomsen. We have been spending some time rehearsing with our new singer and we can´t wait to go on tour as he´s going to rip your heart out ;-) WELCOME TO THE RAUNCHY CAMP KASPER !

Click here for viewing a picture taken lately in our rehearsal room (CAUTION: Dont´take this too seriously as there may appear some wierd faces !!?? ;-)

Right now we´re planning some gigs around Europe as we feel reborn and ready to get on the road. More information will follow. !!

BE SURE TO VISIT OUR RELEASE PARTY TOMORROW FROM 20-24 CET. HERE IN COPENHAGEN AT:

Krudttoenden
Serridslevvej 2,
2100 Copenhagen.

STATEMENT FROM LARS VOGNSTRUP:

"Hey guys and ladies of course. With very much sadness I have to inform you that, after ten years, I've decided to sign out of my beloved band "RAUNCHY" and pass on the legacy to Kasper Thomsen.

RAUNCHY is and will continue to be insanely tight, banging, clever stuff and way above what ever you decide to compare it to. It's been fun reading about some of the bands we've been compared to through the years.

Some of them I've never heard and some of them is true. But if you know anything about good music, genre aside, you'll know immediately by listening to it that our songs come strait from the heart and that's what's keeping it real and what'll make the difference, you know, take it to the top!

To all of you with love for the music: Hopefully I've left you with a dope scream to step to! Enjoy Confusion Bay. I'm Proud of that one! - to the haters: KEEP IT HOMO. -Thanks a lot

Lars Vognstrup

Finland's CHILDREN OF BODOM are tentatively scheduled to release a new DVD/DVD-Audio EP in May/June.

The set will reportedly include the group's video for "Sixpounder" as well as footage of the band taking the viewers on a tour of Helsinki's "cool and important" places. In addition, two brand-new audio tracks will be included as well as possibly two cover songs, one of which is said to have been originally written and recorded by a "very famous and legendary punk band."

Current CHILDREN OF BODOM "fill-in" guitarist Roope Latvala (SINERGY, ex-STONE) will remain in the band throughout the spring and summer and possibly beyond as well. At the moment, his last confirmed show with the group is scheduled to take place in late summer at the band's final festival appearance of the touring season.

"We are not really discussing Roope's situation too much at the moment," keyboardist Janne Wirman told Sonera Plaza Kaista. "He will play all the CHILDREN OF BODOM shows until the end of summer. We'll see what happens after that."

CHILDREN OF BODOM have also commenced the songwriting process for their next studio album, which they expect to record in November/December. A February/March 2005 release through Spinefarm Records is expected.

In related news, Latvala and CHILDREN OF BODOM guitarist/vocalist Alexi Laiho are tentatively scheduled to enter Wirman's Beyond Abilities studio in March to begin recording the new SINERGY album, due in late 2004 through Nuclear Blast Records. No further information is available at this time.

CHILDREN OF BODOM will embark on a North American tour with ICED EARTH beginning on April 18.

Morbid Angel: Morbid Angel's guitar wizard Trey Azagthoth is included in a list of The 100 Greatest Metal Guitarists Of All Time in the March 2004 issue of Guitar World magazine. Ranking at #55 on the star-studded list, Azagthoth is described as: "One of the most crazed characters to emerge from Florida's late-Eighties death metal scene... A frenzied player, he combines furious, angular power chords with ripping leads, but his songs never lack dynamics, since he often chugs through visceral, pick harmonic-tinted rhythms before lashing out with torrents of blinding noise." Among the other luminaries on the list are Tony Iommi, Eddie Van Halen, and Steve Vai. Congratulations to Trey!

Vintersorg:
VINTERSORG/BORKNAGAR frontman Andreas Hedlund (a.k.a. Vintersorg) recently paid Metal Reference a visit in order to clarify his intentions with his many musical projects. The following are some of the highlights of that interview:

Metal Reference: [The new VINTERSORG album] "The Focusing Blur" is seemingly a concept album. In your own words: "...As always a lot of things are happening in our minds and physical existence, both musically, spiritually and in other categories..." What is happening in your mind?

Vintersorg: "At the moment my mind is boiling with creativity, and I'm writing tons of new songs, for different musical forums. And of course it's very occupied by the promotional work for the album, and I also became a father quite recently, so it's a lot of things to reflect upon in my life at this point, and I love it. I can't just sit back and relax. It isn't my nature, and it would make me go insane. So I'm glad that my existence is filled with enthusiasm and creativity, just to explore the unexplored, music-wise and life-wise. It feels like I have so much music to compose, that's just waiting to be released into this world."

Metal Reference: FISSION is apparently a thrash-orientated band formed by you and VINTERSORG drummer Benny Hägglund. Tell me more about that outing.

Vintersorg: "FISSION is a thrash/death band with a lot of melody and atmosphere. I do quite a lot of clear vocals as well as the growling/screaming style. And we also have keyboards in it, so we've found our own entity in that area of music. We're recording the debut album at this moment. It'll be called 'Crater' and will be out on Napalm Records during this year at least. Don't know when actually at this point. But I really enjoy doing it. It's a totally different thing."

Metal Reference: You're also involved in other so-called projects, FREQUENCIES and SPACE ON EARTH. Are you a workaholic?

Vintersorg: "Yes [laughs]. But FREQUENCIES have changed its name to AXIOLOGY, as there's another Swedish band called FREQUENCY. I like to have many things on the move all the time, I guess."

Metal Reference: What's new in the BORKNAGAR camp?

Vintersorg: "We've nearly completed the recording of the new album, and the mix down will be started next weekend I think. Wow, what an album it'll be. I'm blown away by it myself already."

Metal Reference: Is HAVAYOTH still active?

Vintersorg: "Yes, we have the next album finished composed, but there's some more practical things that we have to sort out first."

Metal Reference: "Visions from the Spiral Generator" yielded a breakthrough for VINTERSORG. Have other labels showed interest in signing you?

Vintersorg: "Yes, there are some other labels that want to recruit us, and this new album is the last on the contract with Napalm Records. But Napalm have done a good job for us, and our collaboration has been quite satisfying for us so far, so we'll see what happens in that field. It can be better to stay with a partner that you know somewhat how they operate than to switch into something that you don't know whether will work out or not. But as for this moment, everything with future contract is really just up in the air. Nothing is signed or discussed, and that goes for all the labels that have shown interest in us."

Metal Reference: On your latest two albums, you've used renowned bass player Steve DiGiorgio (TESTAMENT, DEATH, SADUS). What makes him the perfect choice... especially in regard of the fact that Scandinavia has several good bassists as well?

Vintersorg: "Steve is just a guru for us, he's so well balanced in his art. He knows when to support and when to 'show off' in the songs. We have some kind of hidden musical bond I guess, even if we are from very separate part of the world. He has a mind that many bass player I've heard, don't have. He uses melodies in his instrument, and not just one finger pounding on the single notes in the background. Bass has a great potential to give the music yet another dimension, but traditionally bass have often the role of just being there, without being there, if you understand what I mean."

In Flames:
IN FLAMES have resumed work on the video for "The Quiet Place", the first single from their forthcoming "Soundtrack to Your Escape" CD, now that singer Anders Friden has returned to Gothenburg, Sweden, from touring with his side project, PASSENGER, according to MTV.com. "I'm in a movie theater, falling asleep, falling into the movie and walking around in a 'Matrix'-like landscape, and the other guys are playing there," Friden said of the video's concept.

"Soundtrack To Your Escape" is due in North America on April 6 through Nuclear Blast Records. The album will arrive in Europe one week earlier (March 29).

In media news, there's a big article on Arch Enemy (+ a poster!) in the latest issue of the US guitar magazine GUITAR WORLD.
"We Will Rise" is also featured in the tab section of the magazine. The awesome photo's for the piece were taken by photographer
                                                      Zach Cordner.

Michael Amott says; "We did the Guitar World photo shoot in a part of California that was really hurt by the fires they had
there last year. There was burnt down houses and forests everywhere for as far as you could see - it was really shocking.
The photographer had no qualms about getting the smoke machine in for the photo shoot though - probably evoking some pretty
bad memories for the people in the neighbourhood! We just had to laugh, it was kind of absurd!".

-Past and present with Michael Amott-

So what's to expect in 2004? We've had a friendly chat with Michael so he could fill us in on what's been going on and on
                                                      what's coming up...

                                                      1. Looking back on 2003 you've had a pretty exciting and busy year,
what have been the highlights of 2003?

Yes, 2003 was a very busy year for us! We started it off in January with a Scandinavian headline tour (still promoting the
Wages Of Sin album), that tour ended on a Friday and then we started pre-production for the new album on the following Monday!
That was just crazy! Working on our Anthems Of Rebellion album in the studio at the very nice facilities at Backstage Studios
in the U.K with Andy Sneap was a really good experience. When wed completed the album we played live in the USA, Europe and
Korea to promote the Anthems... albumand we havent stopped yet, the live campaign will continue into 2004!

                                                      2. Did the response to Anthems Of Rebellion exceed your expectations?

Well, it was actually better than what wed expected, as wed had the Wages Of Sin album get such great reviews and feedback
You know its hard to always be the flavour of the month so to speak. I think most fans of the Wages album enjoyed the new
                                                      album.

                                                      3. Is it your most successful album to date?

Yes, sales wise it is. The Wages Of Sin is still ahead of the new one in sales figures I guess in some places like the USA
and Japan, cause that album has been out longer. But the Anthems album is selling at faster rate than what Wages Of Sin ever
did in most places. In Europe Anthems... is doing far better than any other release weve had out. Arch Enemy is growing all
the time So yes, we are happy about that!

                                                      4. What's the most memorable event 0f 2003?

To be completely honest, there are too many to mention reallyit was just a great year for us! But some obvious highlights
include the SLAYER/HATEBREED US tour (to be on the road for 7 weeks with SLAYER was such a killer opportunity for ARCH ENEMY).
I must also mention our headline slot at the Korean International Busan Rock Festivalthat was very a very cool and different
                                                      experience!

                                                      5. What was the least memorable event 0f 2003?

All the waiting around we do on the road. I hate airports now more than ever!

                                                      6. What's in store for AE in 2004?

First thing coming up touring wise is a bunch of dates in Canada, USA & Japan opening up for NWOBHM Gods IRON MAIDEN!
It doesnt really get any better than that, at least not in our world! :-)
After that well be doing our own headline tour around Europe in Feb/March, and then I am not 100% what is happeningI guess
we are doing a headline tour in Japan at some point, possibly in May.

                                                      7. Will you be playing any festivals this summer?

I think well play a few European ones, we have played quite a few over the last couple of summers so we dont want to over
do it, maybe well play a few selected ones. Well see!

                                                      8. Have you actually been writing for the next album yet?

No real completed new songs as of yet! There are bits and pieces of riffs and melodies that we jam on at rehearsals. Id say
that a new album from us is quite far away at the moment though. But you never know, if we get creative and inspiration hits
usmaybe itll be sooner than we think!

                                                      9. Is there anybody left you'd like to tour with?

Well, I dont knowafter the recent SLAYER tour and the upcoming IRON MAIDEN dates, its kind of hard to top that you know?!!

Dark Tranquillity:
Sweden's DARK TRANQUILLITY have posted the following message on their official web site:

"Some good news for those of you having problems getting hold of our earlier releases:

"Both 'The Gallery' (1995) and 'The Mind's I' (1997) will be re-released in special remastered deluxe editions, featuring brand new booklet layouts as well as a massive dose of hard-to-find bonus material.

"During the years, we've been all too aware of the lack of availability of our earlier material in the US, and we've heard from a lot of people about how hard and frustrating it is to have to track down expensive import versions of the older albums in order to get the D.T. collections complete.

"We got so much positive response from old and new fans when Century Media licensed the 'Skydancer' (1993) album for the US territory a couple of years ago, so it feels great to finally have 'The Gallery' and 'The Mind's I' enjoying proper stateside distribution as well.

"The European versions of the deluxe editions will be released by Osmose Productions. More details regarding the exact contents of the CD's and their release dates will be posted in the near future."

Deicide: Earache Records has posted a preview of the upcoming DEICIDE DVD, "Behind the Scars - Under The Skin Of Deicide", to be released with the special edition of the group's new album, "Scars Of The Crucifix". Check it out here (Quicktime required).

"Scars Of The Crucifix" was recorded at Morrisound Studios in Tampa, Florida with producer Neil Kernon (CANNIBAL CORPSE, NEVERMORE) and was mixed at Sonic Ranch studios in Tornillo, Texas. A February 24, 2004 release through Earache Records is expected.

Deicide:
DEICIDE frontman Glen Benton recently spoke to music journalist Mark Prindle about the production of the group's early albums, their split with Roadrunner, their new CD, Benton's future work with VITAL REMAINS, and more.

When asked to name something he thinks is truly evil in the world right now, Benton said, "You look at some of these guys that run these fuckin Churches of Satan and shit, I look at them and I'm like, 'You know what? You guys are doing us the worst fucking injustice.' You know what I mean? Why not just put a pair of Mickey Mouse fuckin ears on. So I say it for all of them: Leave the theatrics at home. Read books and shit. If you wanna fight God, fight Christianity, do it with words. Actions only make us look stupid. Burning churches down, all the other bullshit that came out of Norway and shit. They're all 17-year-old kids fuckin' bored fuckin' rebelling against Mom and Dad and shit. What kind of life do you have in a place like Norway? What do you have to talk about in an interview? 'Oh uhh I killed a reindeer last night. Then I shoveled the driveway.' " Asked if he likes any of the Norwegian black metal groups, Benton said, "Yeah, some of the bands. I think IMMORTAL when they were around I think they were a good band. Musically wise, they were a good band. But a lot of it most of it all it is is a bunch of fuckin' 'blur metal' is what I call it. Like 'B-L-L-L-L-L-L-L-L!' There's no texture, there's no nothing. There's just blastbeats and guitar riffs that don't even make sense. It's just 'AR-RAR-RAR-RAR! B-L-L-L-L-L! AR-RAR-RAR-RAR- ROWR-RAR-RAR-RAR! B-L-L-L-L-L! 'AR-RAR-RAR-RAR!' It's like, come on, man. How can you listen to that shit?" Read the rest of the interview here.

The Black Dahlia Murder: We are extremely sorry for not being able to make it to the show in Hebron Ohio last night. The weather wasn't too bad in Michigan but a few hours into the drive it got pretty intense and we made the collective decision to not risk it. We like our van, our trailer, our equipment, and would rather have it safe than laying in a ditch on the side of the freeway. For those of you that can't understand this only happened because of the shitty weather, cry us a fucking river.

Hypocrisy: Official press release Hypocrisy

-Hypocrisy announces line-up changes-

Hello everybody,

We would like to inform you of a change in the Hypocrisy line-up.

We had a band meeting today and the three of us decided that, for "our own" reasons, Lars Szöke will no longer play in the band.

It's always heavy when an orginal member leaves a band. Lars and I have been playing together for 20 years in different bands and he's been kicking the shit out of the drums in Hypocrisy for 13 years. But now it's time to move on.

The new drummer for Hypocrisy is none other than Horgh (ex-Immortal, Grimfist) and we´re convinced that he will kick the shit out of the drums as well... We will see you on The Arrival tour in either Europe or the USA, giving you 100%!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (see tourdates for confirmed dates)

Enjoy the new album, because we are..... Peter/Hypocrisy

Deicide:
After 15 years in the business as one of the reigning heavyweight champs of death metal, Florida's legendary DEICIDE have shot their very first music video.

For this historic occasion, the band chose to immortalize the title track off their forthcoming Earache Records debut, "Scars Of The Crucifix" a song which brutally sums up what DEICIDE is all about.

Bone-rattling riffage, firestorm drumming, and vocals from the pit of hell combine to make "Scars" one of the most venomous anthems DEICIDE has ever recorded.

Shot in Nottingham, U.K. by acclaimed director Pete Bridgewater (THE HAUNTED, DECEMBER), the "Scars Of The Crucifix" video shows DEICIDE in rare form.

The "Scars Of The Crucifix" video is now in the post-production stages. Look for this video, coming soon to Earache.com and a TV near you.

Arch Enemy:
Sweden's ARCH ENEMY have posted live video clip of their song "We Will Rise", filmed at London's Mean Fiddler on December 21, at this location.

In other news, ARCH ENEMY guitarist Michael Amott has issued the following update via the band's official web site:

"Greetings to all of ARCH ENEMY's friends out there!

"2003 has been a fantastic and eventful year we started it off in January with working on our 'Anthems Of Rebellion' album in the studio (in the U.K with Andy Sneap) and when we'd completed the album we played live all over the place in support of it. We have tons of cool memories from the road, too many to mention reallybut some obvious highlights include the SLAYER/HATEBREED US tour and our headline slot at the Korean 'International Busan Rock Festival' and also our last show of 2003, a headline show @ the 'Mean Fiddler' in London a packed house that was ready for the metal!

"We are convinced that 2004 will rock even harder, and things are looking good for the bandfirst thing coming up touring wise is a bunch of dates in Canada, USA & Japan, opening up for the NWOBHM Gods IRON MAIDEN! It doesn't really get any better than that, at least not in our world! :-)"
